A slow news week.

I think its time to add some value to this other wise ignored blog.  Disclaimer: Please don't confuse "value" and "interest".

We've got under a week to go, in fact by this time next Monday James and I should be in France heading for the second train of the day in Dusseldorf.  It's an exciting thought, however, there's a lot that needs to be done between now and then.  Most of it is mundane, some is fun, but it all needs doing.  Thats easily said and far harder done with work and a family also needing attention.

The main jobs now are; packing, documents check, bike check, test ride, kit checks etc...  most of it is confirmation that we've got everything and it all works.  Talking of which; charging cameras, communication kit, GPS units, the laptop and making sure all the batteries in torches etc are new also needs doing.  It's never ending and I'm sure something will be outstanding when we set off.  I prefer to know what the something is.  I can deal with the knowledge that the laptop is flat when we leave but I hate knowing that "something" hasn't been done and spending the rest of the day wondering what it is only to find that I haven't repacked my tent and now it's raining.

A reminder that this is definitely happening came on Friday and, as a result, I have an interview with BFBS Radio Aldershot on Wednesday this week.  I don't know when it's going out but I'll post it on here.  Must be a slow news week...

Game over.

It was with a sombre mood that we packed up camp for the last time on this ride.   We had time on our side before our train back to the UK ...
